Semmering Hirschenkogel features Eastern Austria’s longest toboggan run, stretching approximately 3 kilometers—a true winter highlight! The track is illuminated in the evening, offering an exciting night tobogganing experience. Starting at the gondola lift’s upper station, the route winds through thrilling bends and tunnels, leading back to the valley station. A leisurely ride takes around 15 minutes to complete.
Children may use the toboggan run alone only if they can safely steer and stop the toboggan at any time. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on the track, and walking on the toboggan run is strictly forbidden. While steerable bobsleighs are allowed, inflatable, non-steerable sleds are prohibited.
Toboggan Rental:
Toboggans are available for rent at the lift ticket office for €10, or you are welcome to bring your own.

The following instructions must be observed for safe tobogganing:
- Use proper equipment (sturdy shoes, winter clothing, gloves, etc.)
- Be considerate of others.
- Ride responsibly and keep your distance.
- Mount and dismount safely – always at the edge of the run.
- Offer first aid if needed.
- Do not ride under the influence of alcohol.
- Never toboggan on ski slopes.
- Do not ride head first.
- Pay attention to barriers and warning signs.
- Keep the track clear.

The toboggan run is approximately 3 kilometers long, making it the longest illuminated toboggan run in Lower Austria. It starts right at the mountain station of the cable car and leads through numerous curves and tunnels back down to the valley station. A relaxed descent takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
Yes, toboggans can be rented directly at the lift ticket office. The rental toboggan is suitable for up to two people. Alternatively, you can bring your own toboggan.

Yes. Wearing a helmet and sturdy shoes are strongly recommended. Certain behavioral rules apply, including maintaining a safe speed, keeping distance, showing consideration, and no tobogganing under the influence of alcohol. Pedestrians and dogs are not allowed on the run.
There is no legal age limit. We recommend tobogganing from around 4 years old, accompanied by an adult. Independent tobogganing is possible from about 6 to 8 years old, depending on the child’s ability.
No, dogs are not allowed on the toboggan run, including riding along on the toboggan.
The regular ticket includes access to the lift facilities as well as the toboggan run and ski slopes. The combo ticket additionally includes the rental of a toboggan.
